Observation of World Mental Health Day


Mental disorder affect nearly 12 percent of the World’s population about 450 million or one out of every four people around the world will experience a mental illness that would benefit from diagnosis and treatment. Mental health is defined as a state of well being in which people realize their own potential, can cope with normal life stresses can work productivity and can contribute to their community.
“A state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not mearly the absence of diseases”
The main objectives of the day programme to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day with understanding on mental health issue and the importance of seeking help and easily intervention when needed.
Like every year this year also RARE, Sonepur in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, SUBARNAPUR, Basic Needs India, BANGALURU raise awareness about the mental health issue by observing the day & taking programmatic intervention. The programme was held at Rajeev seba Kendra,Bishimunda , Sonepur with 90 number PLWMIs, Stabled PLWMIs and their care taker attended to know the theme and prospect for PLWMI at district level. This programme gives an opportunity to interact directly with the district legal services authority, to sharing their views, ideas, thoughts, problems and shortcoming before the administration.
The programme was started with a welcome and keynote address by Mr.,Ananga negi programme officer  , RARE, Sonepur with followed by guest address from the district legal services authority,Asis triphaty  DLSA, Sonepur  Desapriya barik, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority ,Asutosh Hota Executive officer RARE, sonepur, Madhusudan ota, president of district sarapanch sangha & sarapanch of Bisimunda G.p all the participants from 15 villages from 3 panchyat of Sonepur Block, NGO representative, media, Asha ,Anganwadi worker, PRImember, programme staff of RARE attended the programme and place their comments and views regarding the importance of the programme.
